These are investigations that should be ordered by the General Practitioner first before referral for more complicated investigations such as urodynamics:

• bladder diary for several days of the time and amounts of fluids drunk and urine passed
• mid stream urine (MSU) sample sent for microbiological culture
• post voided urine volume (should be less than 100mls)

• temperature chart for three months of the awakening oral temperature
• oestrogen, Day 21 progesterone, FSH/LH and thyroid function tests
• semen analysis
